Track 01- Clinical Nursing

Clinical nursing is an advanced field, which means you could also become employed in education and leadership roles. The work covers some common areas including emergency care, pediatrics and geriatrics.

There is a high demand for clinical nurse specialists, particularly because they are so advanced. They are able to work as a primary care provider, but they earn less than physicians, which puts them in particularly high demand. For inner cities, this is a particularly important benefit, but also for under-served areas and rural communities. The demand is also for the expertise of clinical nurses, who are able to coach and mentor other nurses, thereby improving health outcomes across the board. There are a number of specializations that are nationally recognized for clinical nurses. These are adult health, adult gerontology, adult psychiatric and mental health, child and adolescent psychiatric and mental health, gerontology, acute care, general adult, home health, pediatrics, public and community health, infectious disease, cardiovascular disease, occupational health, neonatal, oncology, public health, school health, parent-child, perinatal, rehabilitation, women’s health, core clinical nursing, and advanced diabetes management.

The skills and techniques in clinical nursing are the most important steps to be followed in a professional manner and are essential for better patient outcomes, it consist of certain basic to complex techniques such as monitoring, time management, critical thinking at various situations, Judgment and Decision Making which is Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Mixing of medicines, auscultating the heart, assessing the patient chart etc. should be followed, as a CNS work through complex situations even assisting a surgery. Therefore certain skills and techniques are practiced and done with at most care.

Track 02- Clinical Practice-Areas and Topics

Clinical Practice includes, nurse practitioners working in out-of-hours care, unscheduled care, nurse-led clinics, acute and critical care environments and primary care settings, as well as allied health professionals working with a range of patients (for example non-physiotherapists undertaking modules from the Physiotherapy portfolio). The Nursing award is only available to registered or licensed nurses.

The MSc Nursing and MSc Health Studies (Clinical Practice) is designed to meet the needs of nurses and other health and social care professionals who are practicing in clinical environments and who are working at or working towards an advanced level of practice and are continuously striving  to improve patient care and the patient’s journey within the clinical environment.

Knowledge and independent decision making are specialized skills in the field of nursing and careers in nursing take widely divergent paths depends on practice focus varies by setting, by type of client, by different disease, therapeutic approach or level of rehabilitation. Track04- Nursing Education 

Nursing education is meant by educating and training nurses in the most professional way which includes both theory and practical management .The purpose of nursing education is to prepare them for their duties as nursing care professionals.  Nurse education integrates today a broader awareness of other disciplines allied to medicine, often involving inter-professional education, and the utilization of research when making clinical and managerial decisions. Training professionally offers a more intense practical skills base and emphasizes the handmaiden relationship with the physician. Although a fit between environmental pressures and the reform agenda exists, the implementation of the nursing reform varied considerably between the various Swiss linguistic regions and nursing education in Europe has vast and most possibilities in acquiring knowledge as well as skills.

Track 05- Clinical Nurse Specialist

Clinical nurse specialists (CNS) are registered nurses who are expertise in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area. The CNS specially focuses on population, individual, and type of care, type of problem or diagnostic systems. They provide leadership all over the nursing field as they are trained in various sectors of nursing educations. In some countries CNS is a qualification rather than being a post. There are three domains for clinical nurse specialist practice –patient, nursing personnel and healthcare system.

Track 06- Standards for Clinical Nursing Education

The demand for medical instructors is high therefor there are new innovations to certain Clinical practice placements expose students to practical issues such as technological innovations, unpredictable care transitions, fast-paced environment and complex system issues. Clinical nursing education will allow students and practitioners to learn from their experiences and role models on the ground to prepare them for entry-level practice in a complex and diverse healthcare environment. Laboratory and simulation experiences provide not only students but different clinical practitioners and researchers with an effective and safe environment to learn and apply the cognitive and performance skills needed for actual practice. Simulation is a valuable element of clinical preparation. Patient care experiences with actual patients form the most important component of clinical education. The main motto of evidence-based clinical practice is to improve patient care from experience to informed clinical practice. This helps in dealing with the treatment systematically as well as reducing the dosage of medicine and products on patients. Evidence-based clinical practice is done by assessing the result and applying it into the clinical care. It’s much more efficient and progressive in the field of research too. Satisfied patient outcomes are seen in evidence-based clinical practice. The match between external and objective clinical data and applied subjective clinical judgment is one of the critical clinical values for an evidence-based practice.

Track 08-Evidence Based-Non Clinical Practice

The non-clinical or general influence includes patient related issues such as ones socioeconomic status, patient’s expectation from nursing care, and physician related factors and interaction with their professional community where the treatment information is shared. The non-clinical practice focuses on clinical ethics, public health education, health policy and qualitative-quantitative research. The features of clinical practice such as private versus public practice as well as local management policies are discussed under evidence based-Non clinical practice.

Track 15- Clinical Evaluation

The evaluation of student learning as well as judgement using evidence-base practice outcomes to make sure of safe and effective care can coin as Clinical Evaluation. The clinical area has been the focus of much effort and energy as educators struggle with issues arising from the subjective nature of clinical evaluation and the role of clinical instructors as both teachers and evaluators. The teacher-evaluator and formative-summative distinction is viewed as a false dichotomy which enforces power differentials and impoverishes student learning. A case is built for clinical evaluation as a form of inquiry, the purpose being the discovery and verification of the process and product of the teaching and learning of nursing practice. Clinical Behaviour also comes under Clinical Evaluation and are assessed using certain methods. Fourth generation evaluation is proposed as a basis for evaluation practices that address the unique and context-dependent nature of clinical practice, are capable of producing credible and dependable clinical evaluations, and are supportive of empowering teacher-student relationships
